We learn that when Feldenkrais repeatedly says "don't breathe" he doesn't mean to hold the breath, but rather he means for us to have the profound experience of breathing without the "breather." It's truly liberating. In the Primary Image series, Feldenkrais lays bare the dynamic essence of our self-image – the 5 Cardinal Line schema. Any real change in ourselves always clarifies and refines the Primary Image. And, as unencumbered breathing is a prerequisite to maintaining a stable Primary Image, the benefits of the breathing series are amplified.
